Our program is a partnership. To ensure it runs smoothly, we need support from all involved.
To all our parents and guardians, please:
- Complete and sign all needed registration paperwork.
- Notify us of any updates to your student's personal records, including allergies and medical conditions.
- Watch for, read and respond to any CLC communication.
- Send your student to the Community Learning Center only on your designated days.
- Avoid early departures. Our students enjoy the program, and we want them to take advantage of everything it has to offer.
- Notify us if your student will be absent. We will contact you if your child isn't present to ensure he or she is safe.
- Sign your student out at the end of the day. For safety reasons, we ask that only an authorized parent or guardian signs a student out.
Field Trips
We generally leave the CLC on Wednesdays for field trips, so students can't be picked up before 5:30 p.m., unless they are not participating. If a student is not participating in the field trip, special arrangements will need to be made before the trip so he or she may remain at the CLC.
Please be sure your student is dressed appropriately for weather, including the use of bug spray if appropriate.
Homework Time
Please encourage your student(s) to do homework during the designated time. Our staff may be available to check over homework for completeness and to make sure students understand the work.
However, CLC staff are NOT able to sign off on homework and can't replace parent participation.
We encourage families to be actively involved in their students' lives. Ask them about their CLC activities and attend our family events. We also have many volunteer opportunities.
Student Responsibilities
We want our students to take advantage of and enjoy everything the CLC has to offer. In return, we ask that they:
- Follow the rules.
- Participate.
- Be respectful.
- Understand reading and math are the focus of the program.
- Remember homework is a priority during the designated time.
- Take home written communication from the CLC to their families.
