Fall One-Act Play
The Fall One- Act Play is one of the two productions that RAHS Drama presents during the school year. The One-Acts are produced every other year in the fall of even-numbered years (2018, 2020, etc.) One-Acts are a unique type of drama production that gives the entire play from start to finish in one act. This is the opportunity to take a play “on the road,” as RAHS Drama One Act productions are usually entered in the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association One-Act Play Festival competition. This Festival format competition gives schools the chance to produce a play that travels to various locations and usually performs from start to finish in a 40-minute time limit. The play can advance through the levels of competition from District to Sectional and, finally, State presentation. There are usually acting/performance parts for male and female students as well as student technicians in the areas of Set Construction, Lighting, Sound, Props, Costumes, Makeup, Special Effects, Stage Management, and more. Auditions for the Fall One-Act Play are usually held in September, with rehearsals and production preparation lasting from then to the district competition date in October, home production in November, and finally, State Festival later in November. All RAHS Drama Productions are student run to the greatest extent possible with direction by school district staff.
