My name is Heather Rasmussen, and I am the Vine St. Coordinator. As well as performing this job, I am a certified PK-12 School Counselor. Before I started in this role at the Reedsburg Area High School in the fall of 2007, I was working from 2000 to 2007 as the K-12 School Counselor for the Wonewoc School District. My education journey started in Merrill, WI where I graduated from the Merrill Area High School in 1991. I then continued on to get a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from UW Green Bay in 1996, also minoring in Humanistic Studies with an emphasis in Native American studies. I moved to Reedsburg in 1997, and in the Summer of 1998, I began my Master's program at UW Platteville in Counselor Education of which I graduated in May of 2000.
As the Vine St. Coordinator, I realize that my role as School Counselor comes first, in that it helps to foster the sense of community that I feel is necessary in order to create an atmosphere of success and learning. I enjoy every moment of working as the Vine St. Coordinator, and consider myself very lucky to be able to do what I do in education. The students keep me on my toes, but as you will assuredly find out if you ask any of them, I keep them on their toes just as often, and in many unexpected ways, which is why I think we are a good fit.
