PTO Programs

Our PTO participates in a variety of programs which help us raise money to fund various activities at Westside.  Below is a list of the different programs with a little explanation of how our school benefits from it.  If you are interested in helping with any of these programs, please contact the school office at (608) 524-4846 or email me at lstanek@rsd.k12.wi.us.

Box Tops for Education – This program is sponsored by the General Mills Corporation, and includes many products.  We ask that parents clip the coupons off of the items and send them to school with their child to put in a box in their classroom.  We sometimes have classroom competitions, or we may have individual prizes for students.   Check out their website at www.BoxTops4Education.com for more information and other ways that you can help out our school.

Labels for Education – Sponsored by Campbell’s, this program uses a point system.  Label UPCs are worth different point values.  In the past, the entire front of the label was required, but now it is just the UPC code on the label.  They send us a catalog and the school is able to select items from the catalog based on the number of points we have accumulated.  Their website is located at www.labelsforeducation.com for more information.

Kemps Give ‘Em Five - Buy your favorite Kemps dairy products, with specially marked caps or proof-of-purchase symbols, bring 'em to school, and our school earns money for the things we need. Each stickered milk cap or proof-of-purchase symbol is worth 5¢.  We collect the caps throughout the year, and are issued a check after we submit them.  We do ask that the caps are thoroughly washed  before bringing them to school.  We all know how smelly spoiled milk can be! This is our last year for participating in this program.

Milk Moola - Westside can earn 5¢ for every cap or bag top collected from Kwik Trip or

Kwik Star's Nature’s Touch and Kwik Quencher® products. For every Glazers Dozen or

Half-Dozen price oval we turn in, our PTO earns 10¢ each.  This will be the last year for this program as well.

Register Tapes for Education – From Sept. 1 thru March 31, you can bring in your register tapes from the Reedsburg IGA and deposit them in the container on the PTO table in the front lobby.  A PTO member adds up the total of the tapes and we are then given points to be used for supplies in a catalog that is provided.  Products that can be selected range from playground equipment to office supplies to classroom supplies and more.

Viking Grocery Receipt Program – Save your Viking Foods grocery receipts and turn them in to the school as well.  Viking foods will issue us a check for 1% of the total amount of tapes collected and submitted.

Please thank our local merchants for their support of our school.  In these times of budget concerns, every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.

Fall Fundraiser – In September we hold our major fundraising program.  We will be using Club's Choice again in the fall of 2012/2013.  This is our major source of fundraising.

Scholastic Book Fair – Proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fairs are used to purchase books for both the school’s LMC and for classroom libraries.

Original Art Works – Held in the spring, this program helps Mrs. Seering, our art teacher, raise funds to purchase supplies for the art room.  Students create a work of art and parents are able to purchase items that can be created from their child’s project.

School Mall – If you are an online shopper and would like to help our school raise some money, please check out and register at www.schoolmall.com.  There are a number of stores listed under this site, and a percentage of your sale will be donated back to the school.  The amounts that they donate vary from store to store.

The PTO and staff at Westside Elementary thank you for your support of our school and its students.  I think Helen Keller says it the best in her quote - "Alone we can do so little.  Together we can do so much."
