The School District of Reedsburg is committed to keeping our families, staff, students, and community members informed during the 2020-2021 school year. While there are still many uncertainties regarding the school year, we are hard at work to ensure our students continue to have access to a high-quality educational experience.
This web page serves as a hub for updates related to the educational delivery methods being used within our schools along with other resources.
The situation surrounding COVID-19 is evolving with time. We will regularly update this page as our plans continue to transition. We encourage you to keep checking back for the latest information.
Back-To School: Teaching & Learning Options
Last Updated January 11, 2021
Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, the safety of our students and staff continues to be our top priority. As much as we would like school to be back to normal, we understand that flexibility will be necessary as the recommendations surrounding containing the spread of COVID-19 may change frequently. Based on this need for flexibility, we have three teaching and learning options the district will utilize as needed throughout the school year: Face-to-Face, Hybrid, and Virtual.
As changes occur this year, we will communicate on this webpage, in addition to sending regular family communication via our Skylert notification system. As always, we appreciate your support and understanding during these incredibly challenging times. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
All students, staff, and visitors will wear face coverings. The district is following the Governor's definition of a face covering. "Face covering" means a piece of cloth or other material that is worn to cover the nose and mouth completely. A "face-covering'' includes but is not limited to a bandana, a cloth face mask, a disposable or paper mask, a neck gaiter, or a religious face covering. A "face-covering'' does not include face shields, mesh masks, masks with holes or openings, or masks with vents.
Transportation Updates
Last Updated October 27, 2020 - COVID-19 has adjusted the way we do many things within our school district. Darrin Frye, Transportation and Safety Director shares what new safety precautions have been implemented on our school buses.
How Families Can Help
We are ONE Team!
We all play a role in not just helping reduce the spread of communicable disease, but also supporting one another through these unique times. We are asking our students, staff and families to encourage our district/school-wide behaviors of being safe, respectful, responsible, and kind as we move forward together during these unprecedented times. Additionally, we ask that everyone continues to practice regular preventive actions (see flyer in English, Spanish, Hmong and Mandarin Chinese) including:
Wash your hands regularly, for 20 seconds, using soap and hot water. Make sure to wash your fingertips. This is especially important after using the restroom, coughing or sneezing into your hands, and before preparing or consuming food.
Avoid coughing or sneezing into your hands or in the air. Always try to cough or sneeze into a tissue, and then throw the tissue away. If you don’t have a tissue, cough/sneeze into your arm.
As much as you can, avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose.
If children are feeling sick, please keep them home from school. Families should have a plan in place for keeping your child home, picking up your child if they are sent home sick, and if schools are closed.
