The Math and Reading Intervention Program at the School District of Reedsburg was developed to help students succeed academically, especially in math and reading. We believe academic success starts with a strong set of core learning experiences, taught in ways that personalize learning and are supported as effective in research.
How the Program Works
When students need additional support or challenge, teachers intervene to help students meet specific goals or learning targets. The intensity of the intervention increases as the needs of the students increase, always with the goal of all students grow as learners, and meeting or exceeding standards for the grade level. We also know that parents are a child’s first and most impressionable teacher. Parents know their children best, and we want to work with you, as a team, to help your child reach his or her greatest potential.
Program Funding
Our math and reading intervention programs, including the intervention staff positions, are federally funded using Title IA allocations. Currently, only the elementary and middle schools are eligible to receive Title I funding.
The federal guidelines incorporate and strongly advocate for parental support. We are proud that we can involve parents by having open communication and several parent involvement opportunities throughout the year.
Our district leaders are committed to helping those students who are struggling in reading and math. At the current time, all schools except Reedsburg Area High School in the District are eligible to receive Title IA funding for math and reading intervention services.
