Use these tips to ensure your child has a good attendance record.
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
- Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before and put them by the door.
- When things don't go as planned, come up with a backup plan for getting your child to school (missing the bus, family emergency, waking up late, the car broke down, etc.)
- Send your child to school unless he or she has a fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. When to stay home
- Tummy aches can be nerves and are not a reason to stay home.
- Coughs and colds will happen during the winter but do not necessarily mean a child needs to stay home.
- If medication must be taken at school, please contact the school nurse or school office. Medication Consent form
- Reach out for help if you are experiencing tough times (transportation, unstable housing, loss of a job, health issues) that make it difficult to get your child to school. The school can assist in connecting you to resources in the community that may help.
- Make doctor appointments late in the afternoon or after school and plan extended trips during scheduled breaks.
