Reedsburg Features, a student-generated news resource debuting during the 2025-2026 school year, as a new class. Students in this class are setting the standards for the student-led news at RAHS. Their task aims to provide honest, factual, and engaging coverage of events and stories from within the school, empowering students to take the lead in journalism and communication.
Reedsburg Features will serve as a vital platform for students, offering them hands-on experience in reporting, photography, and media production. It aims to inform, entertain, and unite the RAHS community while amplifying the diverse voices of its student body.
Principal Katie Mathews expressed her enthusiasm for this innovative program, stating, “The launch of Reedsburg Features is an incredible opportunity for our students to engage directly with the world of journalism. Not only will it provide them with real-life experiences in writing and communication, but it will also foster a deeper connection to our school and community. I can’t wait to see the creativity and passion our students will bring to this exciting endeavor.”
Reedsburg Features promises to adhere to a firm editorial policy, ensuring that all content is original, fact-checked, and reflective of the entire student body. The staff will focus on relevant topics pertaining to both students and faculty, aiming to engage the community through the platform’s website and social media presence on Instagram and Facebook.
In addition to news articles, Reedsburg Features plans to expand into podcasting, further enriching the school's communication landscape and giving students a multifaceted experience in media.
